Janneke de Smet – Dierckx

Janneke is currently deputy chief prosecutor of the National Prosecutor’s Office within the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service. She plays an important role in the field of attack of organized crime and in addition she has, among other things, set up a women’s network within the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service. For these reasons and more, she was named this year’s Legal Woman of the Year. This was the first time a public prosecutor has received this award.
Janneke has become a well known, respected and much experienced leader in the attack of not only organized crime, but also phenomena like underground banking, money laundering, cybercrime and confiscation of criminal assets/money.
