Mathis Koch is a Security Analyst at Pinewood, where he supports government, critical infrastructure, legal, and medical organisations in detecting and responding to cyber threats. His work combines incident analysis, threat monitoring, and advisory support, with a focus on realistic risk and operational decision making rather than worst‐case narratives. Previously, he worked as a technical intelligence generalist, designing intelligence solutions, conducting open‐source and geopolitical analysis, and supporting surveillance and due‐diligence operations for international clients. He holds an MSc in Crisis and Security Management with a specialisation in Intelligence and National Security from Leiden University, where he graduated as valedictorian. His interests centre on state actor cyber operations, hybrid disruption, and what modern conflict realistically means for critical infrastructure operators and senior decision makers.
