Janny Knol

Janny Knol is currently serving as the Commissioner (Korpschef) of the Dutch National Police, a position she has held since March 2024 succeeding Henk van Essen. Prior to her appointment as Korpschef, Janny accumulated extensive experience across several regions, including IJsselland, Gelderland-Midden, and Twente, where she held various leadership roles.

Janny’s career at the police began in 1990 and includes notable service as the Commissioner of the Twente district from 2013 to 2019. She later advanced to the role of Head of Operations and Deputy Chief Commissioner in the Northern part of the Netherlands, focusing on intelligence and cybercrime. In 2022, she was appointed as Chief Commissioner of the Regional Police Unit East Netherlands.
