Lokke Moerel is professor of Global ICT Law at Tilburg University and Senior of Counsel with the leading global technology law firm Morrison & Foerster (Brussels). She provides strategic advice to the world’s most complex multinational organizations on global implementation of new technologies based on privacy/ethics-by-design, digital transformation and cyber security.

Lokke is Co-Academic Director of the Tilburg University Program Big Data | AI & Law | Tilburg University, where she teaches the sessions How to implement Algorithmic Accountability: 10 steps for white box development and Where ethics meets Data Protection.
Lokke is a member of the Dutch Cyber Security Council (the advisory body of the Dutch cabinet on cybersecurity), member of the Monitoring Committee of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code and non-executive board member of a number of non-profits and tech-companies.
Lokke received many international awards, and was recently recognized by Global Data Review ‘Women in Data 2022’ for being ‘at the cutting edge of legislation, regulation and technology around the world’

Lokke practiced law in The Netherlands, London, Berlin and recently moved to Brussels.
