Dr. Nicole van Deursen is a creative researcher by nature and a producer of knowledge products by profession. Her long-standing international career in consultancy and research has accelerated her core strength: the ability to gather information, analyse the trends and visualise new structures and insights. She published several academic papers on forecasting cybersecurity risks, numerous articles and blogs, and a book on visual communication for cybersecurity. She currently works at the Security Expertise Centre at SURF where she is committed to support the research and education sector with knowledge sharing around threat assessment and risk management. Outside of work you can find her on the dancefloor or with her sketchbook in nature and museums.
