Matthijs van Amelsfort MSc (1976) is the director of the Netherlands National Cyber Security Centre. The main goal of the NCSC-NL is to improve the digital resilience of the Netherlands. Matthijs has over twenty years of experience in digital forensic investigations, Cybercrime, and management. In his previous role Matthijs was head of the National High Tech Crime Unit (THTC) at the Dutch National Police. In other roles he supervised the Digital Investigations Team of the Detective Cooperation Team (RST) at Curacao in the Dutch Caribbean region and the Digital Investigations Team at the Police Central Unit in The Netherlands. Also, Matthijs was the former head of the Special Investigations Unit of the Central Criminal Investigations Division.
Matthijs is a graduated Master of Science in Forensic Computing and Cyber Crime Investigations and has a Master’s degree in Management.
