Martijn started using a computer when he was only 5 years old. He has been working in cybersecurity for quite a few years now. Currently employed as the Cyber Threat Intelligence Coordinator at DICTU (under the Ministry of Economic Affairs), Martijn is responsible for coordinating DICTU’s dedicated CTI team. Besides CTI, Martijn is also responsible as one of the project leads for the further development of DICTU’s SOC. Before this, Martijn has developed a lot of technical expertise, working for the Security Operations Center of the Dutch Tax Office.
Martijn is also a strong supporter of collaboration and therefore is part of several external collaborations and information sharing initiatives, such as J-SOC, RijksISAC and NRN. Martijn always has a passion for learning more about APTs, hacktivists and other kinds of threat actors. He has performed a lot of different talks at other conferences and meetups, such as at MoreIP and at Defcon Holland and in 2023 he also did a talk at the ONE Conference about the leaked Conti Ransomware group chats. You can also find some podcasts and videocasts featuring him online, such as an episode of Threat Talks, about Cyberwarfare.
Furthermore, he is a Cyberspecialist at the Dutch National Police where one of the things he does is give CTI and OSINT training. In his spare time he likes spending time on CTF’s and messing around with the Flipper Zero and various other (physical) hacking tools.
