Marieke Blom is Chief Economist and Global Head of Research at ING Group.
Marieke has been with ING since 2014, where she heads the Research team covering subjects such as macroeconomics, rates and currencies, housing markets, sectors, sustainability, and technology.
Marieke has been on the board of the Dutch Royal Economic Society (KVS) and was a member of the Advice Committee for the Dutch National Growth Fund from 2020 to 2025. Prior to joining ING, Marieke held the position of senior manager at the Amsterdam consultancy start-up “De Argumentenfabriek” and served as a political advisor for the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA). Her career began at ABN AMRO. Marieke holds a Master’s degree in monetary economics and completed her thesis at the research department of the Dutch Central Bank.
