Supply has been and increasingly will be a target for cybercrime and state actors. Our changing world also requires the Dutch government to change the way it protects its key interests across the vast network of suppliers.

Many government suppliers provide essential products and services that intersect with the core processes and assets of government organizations. This often entails dealing with sensitive information, state secrets and crown jewels. In the vast landscape of government contractors and suppliers, the government is becoming increasingly dependent on the security of private parties for safeguarding our national security.

To address the security risks associated with government contracts involving state secrets or crown jewels, ABRO, the General Security Requirements for Central Government Contracts, has been developed. ABRO takes an integrated approach, addressing various security domains like personnel-, physical- and cyber security.

During this session we will dive into the challenges the Dutch Government faces in protecting state secrets and crown jewels when working with contractors and suppliers. We will introduce ABRO and its unique characteristics, share insights from aligning security measures across participating government organizations, and highlight relevant practices to manage risks across organization’s supply chain.
