DNV and Siemens Energy in 2024 invited stakeholders across the offshore wind industry to a Joint Industry Project to identify common practices for how to implement OT Cyber Security for Offshore Wind. By guiding all stakeholders with a common interpretation of standards and best practices, this broad partnership will ensure wind power remains a growing and reliable energy source despite escalating cyber threats.
This JIP seeks to create and disseminate a cohesive, proactive model that improves the integrity, resilience, and operational efficiency of wind energy in the face of sophisticated and evolving cyber threats. Several key stakeholders have joined this JIP and work is now in full motion to an expected finalization in 2026.
This paper will give an update on the status and approach for this Joint Industry Project and, and the lessons learned as we work toward publishing guidance in 2026.
