Cybersecurity professionals operate under constant, unpredictable levels of pressure. While many metrics exist on how well they perform their work under this pressure, there are far fewer metrics on how it impacts their well-being. This panel will use insights from a ground-breaking 2025 well-being survey of professionals in the Dutch Cybersecurity Sector to guide a conversation around the human-centered challenges within the Dutch cybersecurity workforce and broader industry. Referencing quantitative metrics and qualitative reflections from the survey, the panelists will discuss how factors such as perceptions of trust, feeling supported and valued, and having a sense of belonging relate to experiences of stress, burnout, turnover intentions, and individual resilience. Whether you’re an analyst, team lead, CISO, HR strategist, policy maker, or student entering the field, this session offers a first look at data that will shape how we support, retain, and develop cybersecurity talent. Attendees will also learn how these insights can inform policy, training initiatives, and future investments aimed at making cybersecurity not just sustainable, but more empathic to the human side of this critical work.
