This talk will provide an insight in how artificial intelligence is influencing the digital threat landscape. It will examine real-life cases of how threat actors utilize AI in different parts of the cyber kill chain. The examples show how certain parts of the kill chain are being automated, run more efficiently and sometimes even replaced with mind-blowing new capabilities. The skills and claims of new AI models present new challenges and opportunities for both defenders and attackers. However, this does not automatically mean that this leads to never seen before attacks. We will also explain how the NCSC-NL views the developments around AI and how these influence the steps organisations must take to protect themselves. In a world where everything is AI-powered and the hype cycle is at peak levels, the speakers in this talk will try to provide a realistic perspective and course of action.
