Martijn started using a computer when he was only 5 years old and has been working in cybersecurity for quite a few years now. Currently employed at DICTU (under the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate), Martijn is fullfulling multiple roles. He is responsible for leading the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team and a program manager/project lead together with Robin, to build a Cyber Defense Center (next-gen SOC) and a new, better cybersecurity organization within DICTU. Martijn is also a strong supporter of collaboration and therefore is part of several external collaborations and information sharing initiatives, such as J-SOC, VSSR, Cyclotron and NRN. Martijn was also chosen to be the chairman of the RijksISAC in 2026. Martijn always has a passion for learning more about APTs, hacktivists and other kinds of threat actors. He has performed a lot of different talks at other conferences and meetups, such as at MoreIP and at Defcon Holland and in 2023 he also did a talk at the ONE Conference multiple times before, such as about the leaked Conti Ransomware group chats and about the big threat that is infostealer malware. You can also find some podcasts and videocasts featuring him online, such as an episode of Threat Talks, about Cyberwarfare and episodes on NPO (Vrije Vogels) about the risks of unknown USB sticks, charging cables and IP-camera’s. Furthermore, he is a Cyberspecialist at the Dutch National Police where one of the things he does is give intelligence trainings, with a focus on CTI and OSINT. In his spare time he likes spending time on CTFs and messing around with the Flipper Zero and various other (physical) hacking tools.
