Today’s Critical Infrastructure, power, water/wastewater, pharmaceuticals, all rely on a vast array of OT systems to support their operations and processes. As these environments take advantage of emerging technologies such as AI, smart manufacturing, and industry 4.0, the more vulnerable these processes become. An escalation in OT focused attacks has been observed over the past several years and this is expected to increase in the future at the hands of nation-states, cybercrime, insider threat, etc. It requires increasing attention not only to counter a broad range of threats to OT but also to strengthen the cyber resilience of these environments. We will discuss the best practices and lessons learned from our experience in designing, implementing, and running large-scale OT Cybersecurity Programs. This will include stories from the trenches starting with overcoming cultural divide between IT and OT, maximizing business value, and navigating incident response in OT environments.
