Gürkan has been engaged in cybersecurity supervision since the outset of his career. After three years at the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI), he expanded his expertise in regulatory oversight by joining the TIBER Cyber Team within the Dutch Authority for Financial Markets (AFM).
As part of this team, he collaborates with supervisory colleagues both within the Netherlands and internationally to ensure financial institutions adhere to the TIBER-EU framework when conducting TIBER-EU tests.
With the introduction of DORA, Threat-Led Penetration Testing (TLPT) now plays a crucial role alongside the TIBER-EU framework in strengthening cybersecurity resilience within the financial sector.
