Through this presentation, we want to lower the barrier to adoption and raise awareness of the existence of analytic techniques and present the SATs-toolbox. SAT stands for structured analytic techniques and are techniques that have been used for decades in the security domain to properly deal with uncertainties. In fact, SATs help to work more effectively and efficiently. SATs are crucial to ensure quality assurance when performing analyses. Even though the use of SATs in the integral security domain is the norm, this does not apply to the digital security domain.
Thus, we will elaborate on (1) the added value of SATs for digital resilience, (2) how to use SATs toolbox and (3) showcase a use case from the NCSC-NL Operations unit where SATs enhanced the effectiveness of our analysis.
