Cyber threat researchers regularly come to fresh understandings about the evolution of cyberattacks. This session will describe how the Russia-Ukraine conflict of 2022 revealed new approaches to cyber attacks. The speaker will describe three categories of attacks witnessed: to disrupt critical infrastructure and government agencies’ normal operations; to shake public confidence; and to create long-term, undetected access of information to support future operations. The session aims to enlighten government leaders who seek to understand the influence and nature of cyber attacks, as well as organizations globally that must focus on investing in data security and protection, business continuity plans, and cyber hygiene.
