Given the growing digital threats and resilience lagging behind, the Dutch government last June announced to focus on structural and adaptive risk management for critical infrastructure. The Inspectorate of Justice and Security plays various roles in cyber supervision in the Netherlands:

  • Supervises the cyber resilience and the quality of the performance of cyber tasks of the implementing organisations of the Ministry of Justice and Security;
  • Supervises the National Police's special powers to investigate or covertly hack into suspects' computers remotely;
  • Together with other national regulators and supervisors, ensures a coherent system of cyber security inspections.

This session wants to discuss different approaches to cyber supervision in an international and multi-stakeholder environment.
