Artificial Intelligence (AI) is presented as an almost divine solution as well as a great threat to cyber security. This presentation goes beyond the hype and shows how AI will probably affect the field of cyber security. To that end, future scenarios on the development of AI in cyber security will be outlined. The probability of these scenarios will be substantiated by the latest public research and practical cases along three main lines of change caused by AI. First, AI can improve and upscale existing means of attack and defense. Second, AI makes completely new types of attack possible. Third and last, AI itself can become an attack vector. Remember: The future is already here—it’s just not very evenly distributed.
